Billy Battle is a love letter to the women we grew up watching and the pieces that made them unforgettable. We collect distinctive vintage fashion and accessories, primarily from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s: the decades of bold hardware, unexpected shapes, unapologetic color, and bags with actual personality.

THE STORY BEHIND THE 38 DROP

Billy Battle began with 38 vintage handbags collected over several months and released on founder Nika Battle Chapel’s 38th birthday.

Each bag brought back a memory of a woman who seemed impossibly cool: confident, glamorous, and entirely herself. Together, they became The 38 Drop—the inaugural Billy Battle collection and the beginning of something much bigger.

Every piece was individually selected for its shape, color, texture, details, and ability to make an entrance.

VINTAGE, CHOSEN WITH INTENTION

Billy Battle isn’t interested in filling racks for the sake of having more. Every piece is chosen slowly and deliberately.

We look for vintage with presence: sculptural handbags, dramatic accessories, unexpected clothing, and the kinds of pieces that can transform an otherwise ordinary outfit. Items are researched, photographed, and described with care, including honest notes about age and condition.

Vintage pieces have lived a life before they found their way to Billy. Minor variations and signs of age are part of their history—and part of what makes them impossible to duplicate.
